Common Issues and Solutions

• Progress Not Saving: Econ Pragma saves your progress on your device and backs it up to the cloud automatically. Make sure you have an internet connection so your progress can sync, and that the app has enough storage available.
• Progress Missing on a New Device: Cloud backup is tied to an anonymous ID created on your original device. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, some progress may not transfer. Email us if you need help recovering your data.
• No Sound: Check that your device is not muted (the silent switch on iPhone) and that the in-app sound setting is enabled.
• A Lesson Looks Cut Off or Won't Load: Try closing and reopening the app, or updating to the latest version. If it continues, email us with your device model and a screenshot.

Econ Pragma ("we," "us," or "our") is an educational game designed to teach economics through interactive play. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we handle your information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices, which emphasize minimal data collection, anonymous use, and no advertising.

1. Information We Collect

Econ Pragma does not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal contact information to play. We collect the following limited information to provide and improve the game:

Account & Identifiers

• Anonymous ID: When you open the app, we create an anonymous account using Firebase Authentication's anonymous sign-in. This generates a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email, or any personal identity. We use it only to back up and restore your game progress.

Game & Usage Data

• Game Progress: Your lesson completion, stars, streaks, in-game currency, and similar progress, stored on your device and backed up to the cloud (Firebase Firestore) under your anonymous ID.
• Analytics Data: Anonymous, aggregated usage information such as screen views, lessons started and completed, and feature usage, collected via Firebase Analytics to help us improve the game.

Technical Data

• Local Storage: Your progress, settings, and preferences are cached locally on your device so the game works smoothly and offline.
• Network Data: An internet connection is used for cloud backup, analytics, and loading fonts; the core lessons can be played offline.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use this information solely to provide and improve the game, including:

• Saving your progress and restoring it via cloud backup.
• Understanding which lessons and features are used so we can improve them.
• Diagnosing and fixing technical problems.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Econ Pragma:

• Firebase (Google): For anonymous authentication, cloud progress backup (Firestore), and analytics.
• Google Fonts: To load the fonts used in the app's design.

These services process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell or share your information beyond what is necessary to provide these features.

4. Key Privacy Commitments

• Anonymous by Default: You can play without creating an account or providing any personal information.
• No Personal Information Required: We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or location.
• No Advertising: Econ Pragma does not show third-party ads or share data with advertising networks.
• No Microphone or Camera: The app plays sound effects only; it does not record audio or access your camera.
• No Selling of Data: We never sell your data.
• Educational Purpose: All data is used solely to provide the educational game experience.

5. Permissions Explained

• Internet/Network: Used for cloud backup, analytics, and loading fonts.

6. Children's Privacy

Econ Pragma is suitable for a general audience, including students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app does not require any personal information to play. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it.

7. Data Security

We rely on industry-standard security measures provided by Firebase, including encryption in transit, to protect the limited data we handle. No system is completely secure, but because the game uses anonymous identifiers and collects no personal information, the privacy risk to you is minimal.

8. Your Choices and Control

• You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the app.
• You can request deletion of the cloud backup associated with your anonymous ID by contacting us (please include any in-app identifier if available).
• You can limit analytics by disabling background app activity in your device settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
